What We Accept on Consignment

We accept a limited selection of baby gear and select maternity items on consignment.

Consignment Split: 50/50
You receive 50% of the selling price after your item sells.

Payment Timing:
Payouts are available after your item sells. You’ll be contacted once it’s ready for pickup or applied as store credit if that’s your preference.

If your item does not sell within 90 days, you can either pick it up or donate it back to the store.

Condition Requirements:

  • Items must be clean, safe, and in full working condition.

  • All parts must be included — no missing straps, bolts, or pieces.

  • Every item is checked for recalls and safety standards before being sold. Any recalled or unsafe item will be properly disposed of.

Average Resale Value:
Most items resell for 20–30% of their original retail price — that’s the going market rate, even in excellent condition. Larger furniture pieces, such as cribs, strollers, and changing tables, typically sell for around 20% of retail value due to low demand and space requirements.
New items still in the box usually sell for 50–60% of their original value in-store.

Clothing Policy

We do not consign clothing — maternity or baby. Most baby clothing in the store is priced between $1 and $3, and the resale margin just doesn’t make consignment practical.

We will consign formal maternity dresses that are in like-new condition (for example: photoshoot gowns or special occasion wear).

All other clothing is accepted as donations only, and those donations help keep prices affordable for local families.

Maternity Clothing Exchange

We offer an ongoing exchange program for maternity clothing.

You can bring in clean, gently used maternity clothing and exchange it for store credit toward baby items.

Please note:

  • Items must be freshly washed — not “clean from storage.”

  • Exchange credit applies only to store-provided or donated items, not consignment or vendor merchandise.

  • Diapers are part of our Diaper Pantry and are not exchangeable. They’re available in small packs for families who need them, and we gladly accept diaper donations to keep that going.

We Cannot Accept

  • Used breast pumps, bottle nipples, or feeding items (They can be donated, and distributed but not sold)

  • Car seats that have been in an accident, have missing parts, visible wear, or expire within 24 months

  • Toys of any kind.

  • Anything that has been recalled (i.e., drop side cribs, crib bumpers)

  • Items with strong odors, stains, or pet hair.

Safety Policy

Safety is non-negotiable at Moonchild. Every single item is checked against recall databases and inspected before being sold. Anything unsafe or recalled is properly disposed of and never re-circulated.

Drop-Off Info

Items for consignment, exchange, or donation can be dropped off at any time during store hours.
Please bring larger items at least 30 minutes before closing to allow sufficient time for review.
We will look over your items and let you know what qualifies.

Our Goal

Everything about Moonchild is built on community and common sense.
We keep pricing realistic, prioritize safety, and make sure families can access what they need without breaking the bank — while keeping the store sustainable for the long run.

Consignment and vendor items are not charitable donations and are sold by Moonchild Maternity, LLC.
